An Overwhelming View, Florentino Ameghino Dam
The Florentino Ameghino Dam can be found on the Chubut River, which is born in the mountains and empties in the Atlantic Ocean. This is a beautiful river with emerald water.
This dam can be found on the middle of the province, at about 140 kilometers from Trelew. It gives us a beautiful scenery because the lake can be seen in the middle of redish rocks that give an impressive frame to this overwhelming picture. Idel for a quiet day, to have an asado under the trees (there’s a camping nearby) or to practice a variety of sports.
How To Get There
From Madryn, take Nacional Route 3 and go South, towards Trelew. When you get to the roundabout (after going by Trelew’s airport, having traveled 60 kilometers approximately) turn right and take Route 25 towards Esquel.
Go on until you reach a small town called Las Chapas, and turn left. After 12 kilometers you arrive to the Dam. Here you can do rafting, rock climbing, trekking, photographic tours and trout fishing.
