Peninsula Quetrihué, a path to the forest of arrayanes
From the port of Villa la Angostura (at which you arrive taking by boulevard Nahuel Huapi towards the south), opens the footpath that crosses the peninsula of Quetrihué, a large peninsula that enters the Lake Nahuel Huapi.
The path, that is some 12 kilometers long and that can be made on foot, in bicycle or riding a horse, leads to the forest of Arrayanes. This forest can also be visited from the lake, hiring an excursion at the port.
The vegetation that dominates the great peninsula is coihues accompanied by lauras, maquis and enredaderas as mutisia reigns, of beautiful orange color, or mutisia virreina of violet coloration, orchids, and other beautiful species.
Also listen to the varied and musical songs of birds like chucao, austral mouseholes, rayaditos and cotorras.
From the look out point a panoramic view of the lake Nahuel Huapi with its arms is the perfect picture spot.
The company of a qualified guide is suggested to identify the existing hills that stand out.
Retaking the footpath towards the left and after a short passage we arrived at Messidor I and II from which Bahía Mansa with the wharf of Port Angostura.
