Primeros Pinos, Ski for beginners
Primeros Pinos is located on Provincial Route 13, 54 km west of Zapala.
The Snow Park offers smooth slopes ideal for beginners who want to learn to ski. It is possible to rent equipment in the park, as well as sleighs if you want to play in the snow. Another option is to stop in Zapala and rent there where there is more to choose from.
There is a small restaurant where to purchase a sandwich or some warm meals. In addition there is small hotel with reasonable prices if you prefer to stay overnight.
In summer, Primeros Pinos is an ideal place to relax and, picnic basket in hand, leave the car and walk. It is a very particular landscape. The park as well as the surrounding hills are rocky with patches of araucaria forests. The araucarias are strange indeed, tall green with long arms that extend in all directions. The give the are a "primitive" look like something out of an H. G. Wells novel.
