Artisans, lakes and mountains in this day tripTrip Length: 258 kilometers. Leaving Bariloche to the south on route 258, a magnificent trip takes us to the city of El Bolson. Lakes Gutiérrez and Mascardi are bordered, crossing soon La Veranada y Pampa del Toro. To the left of the road the mountainous Ñiriguau and Aspero can be seen. Soon the road climbs more than a thousand meters above sea level, in a winding route, crossing the Cañadón de la Mosca. Soon it begins to descend towards the small village of the Villegas River. After crossing the Foyel river and the bridge on the Quemquemtreu river it arrives at El Bolson. There the traveller can find all the services necessary. 120 kilometers of San Carlos de Bariloche, in the province of Rio Negro, El Bolson invites to enjoy its excellent microclimate and to live nature.
The craftsmen here have obtained a quality of unquestionable art with wood, clays, metals, stones and flowers among other noble materials. These exquisite crafts can be found in the Regional Fair on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays between 10 and the 14 hs. This Fair is famous in all Patagonia, with its 230 craftspeople ir brings a world of wool, ceramics, leather, candies, fresh vegetables and fruits, knives candles, and all those that produce the settlers of El Bolson. Small farms on the slope of the mountain offer the tourist the possibility of sharing the rural life with their owners.
