Mountaineering in Ushuaia
Mount Alvear
After going through Tierra Mayor valley, a natural in Tierra del Fuego, we get to Alvear mountain chain, the starting point for the ascent; snow, stones and ice form part of the landscape.
Once at the top, we see the Beagle Channel, Escondido, Fagnano and Yehuin lakes, and Darwin mountain range, in Chile.

Andorra - Cañadón de la Oveja
We surround the back part of the city as we hike along Andorra Valley mountain range. After walking across the woods, we find the Cañadón de La Oveja (Sheep Ravine) and reach Laguna Del Caminante (Hiker's Lake). We spend the night there and the following day we visit the highest part of the ravine. Then, as we go towards the south, we reach National Route N° 3.

Level: Demanding (minimal mountaineering experience required).
Martial Glacier
We start at the alpine ski slope of the Andean Club. After 100 m, we come across the Nordic ski slope, and get to Martial Glacier's chairlift. From there, we continue along the ski slope of the glacier until getting to the refuge of Ushuaia Andean Club. At this point, there is a footpath leading to the base of Martial Glacier, from where we start the ascent, during which we climb on ice, and finally reach the ridge. Once there, we will enjoy the view of the Beagle Channel in its total immensity.

Mount Portillo
Located Northeast of the city, we start the trek at Arroyo Grande (Big Stream), after reaching a shattered refuge over the bank of Río Chico (Small River), from where the mount can be clearly seen. At this point, we walk off the footpath and continue in the direction of the glacial drift at the base, outside the woods. Once in the glacial drift area , the ascent begins. From the summit, we enjoy a view of the whole city, the Beagle Channel, and Navarino and Hoste island.

Mount Olivia
This mount is the most beautifully shaped mountain surrounding Ushuaia. To get to the ordinary road, we must reach the “Faldeo del Olivia Hotel” (Olivia's Mountainside), on National Road N°3. That is the beginning of a trail that leads to the border of the forest, in the direction of a quite big cirque, which is the bowl-shaped area where the glacier first formed. From the base of this cirque, we start taking the ascent routes. The top offers an incredible view of Mount Cinco Hermanos (Five Brothers) and Beagle Channel.

Mount Domo Blanco
It is located in Mount Alvear valley. From Tierra Mayor Winter Resort, we cross the peat bog and go up the valley along the wide trail, until we reach the back of the valley. There is hardly frequented path that takes to the lower part of Mount Alvear. This is the spot from where the ascent begins. From the summit, we can view Fagnano and Esmeralda lakes, Carabajal valley, Albino glacier and Mount Alvear.

Mount La Esfinge
We start at Esmeralda Lake, located at the base of the west wall of Mount La Esfinge. From there, the ascent is done through grazing lands and glacial drifts , completely beyond the eastern borders of the forest, from where it is possible to see the ascent track. Once at the top, it is possible to see the Beagle Channel, Ushuaia and the entire Andorra valley.

Glacier trekking
It is a seven hour trek, during which you will ascend Martial Glacier, walk on ice, experience crack climbing, and enjoy the glacier from the top. The excursion starts and ends at the chairlift base, and goes past Ushuaia Andean Club, which is at the end of the chairlift journey .

End-of-the-world summits
A trekking outing, in which we ascend the mounts surrounding the northern part of the city, to get the best panoramic views of the area. We start at the city's border (Mirador del Beagle neighborhood) and ascend to Mount Del Medio, Margot Lake, and Mount Roy. We walk along Roy's ridge, from where we get fantastic views of the city, the bay, and the range expanding to the north. Then, we descend towards Martial Glacier. We go past the Ushuaia Andean Club's refuge, and continue our way down until we reach the base of the chairlift.
